If you’re buying a gun online, from a neighbor or from out of town, you need to protect yourself legally and have the firearm transferred to us. We will make the process easy.
Transfer fees
Handguns – $20 cash / $25 debit or credit
Long guns – $20 cash / $25 debit or credit
When you purchase a firearm from an out of town dealer, you will need that dealer to
ship the firearm to Gunwerks. Please call us at (910) 975-7417 and we will help you
get the process started for it.
If you are purchasing a firearm from a friend, neighbor, or other
seller who is not a dealer, it is best to come into our shop with the
seller. The gun will be transferred into our inventory and out of the
seller’s name. The buyer will complete the federal firearm purchase
form. This requires a valid current identification (driver’s license or
other photo id). It is also necessary that the buyer pass a
background check or present a valid NC Concealed Handgun
Permit.
